NCRF has been an active participant in the revitalization
efforts of the Oak Park neighborhood in Sacramento, CA. In
2000, NCRF provided a $78,000 loan to Kynship Development Corporation
to rehab a 90-year old historic Victorian building to its former
glory. The building at the corner of one of the busiest intersections
in the neighborhood is now used by nonprofits servicing the
surrounding residents.

NCRF also made a loan to St Hope Development
Corporation in 2002, to rehab a former theatre and commercial
building. The complex, 40 Acres Art Gallery and Cultural Center
is now home to a bookstore, barber shop, Starbucks, community
theatre and market rate housing. The $1,070,000 loan made by
NCRF was leveraged with funds from Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment
Agency and Northern California Community Loan Fund. |
