The Nehemiah Community Reinvestment Fund is making
short-term low-interest loans to community- and faith-based organizations
available in Wichita.
Officials at the nonprofit community development
lender, which is based in Sacramento, Calif., say the loans are
for the development of affordable and special needs housing and
economic development in low-income areas.
The Wichita loan program is part of a larger $5.5
million loan effort called "Moving People from Homelessness
to Homeownership," says Scott Syphax, president and CEO
of the Nehemiah Corp.
The loans will range in size from $10,000 to $750,000
and will have terms extending for up to five years, Syphax says.
